Building the Future of Learning

As a leading international school, BIS is continuously shaping its development as a school of the future. To finance a first-class education, school fees and a portion of state subsidies are used to cover the school’s daily operations. For strategic major investments, however, additional funding is required — through fundraising and sponsorships. In these cases, BIS relies on the support of our community and our corporate partners.

Currently most immediate need for support is in the realisation of the Creativity & Innovation Centre (CIC). In addition the school is looking for supporters for the Financial Assistance Programme and for donors for further scholarships. Towering above all of these measures is the strategic umbrella of developing a long-term culture of giving in the BIS community and building strong partnerships with companies in the Munich region.

Our Main Fundraising Campaigns

The Creativity & Innovation Centre (CIC)

The Creativity & Innovation Centre (CIC) is the largest and most urgent project to further develop BIS, to keep the school future-proof and to ensure the high standards of academic excellence. The new heart of the Haimhausen campus will be a model of modern learning facilities. The building will be located where the old sports hall currently stands, connecting the primary school buildings and the new sports hall.

Layout: 19 classrooms including art, design tech, 10 laboratories, 12 flexible learning spaces
Character: modern, open, innovative, creative, interdisciplinary, "STEAM" building (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics)
The CIC will meet requirements of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) and support contemporary learning concepts such as interdisciplinary collaboration and technology and design.
Construction costs: approx. 25 million euros

BIS Sustainability Fund

The BIS Sustainability Fund is focused around improving both of our campuses and transforming your child's environment. As a non-profit organisation, BIS relies on fundraising for enhancements to our campuses and to our school to create the BIS experience that we want our students to have.

The BIS Sustainability Fund allows us to do that each year and has an immediate impact on students and teachers by funding projects that are unable to be covered by tuition fees. In this school year the focus of the BIS Sustainability Fund is improving the outdoor playground areas at both of our campuses. We are working together with staff members & students to create areas, which reflect the rich learning opportunities outside play can provide.

Scholarship Programme

Fee Reduction Programme

BIS also offers a Fee Reduction Programme. Its purpose is to provide emergency relief to families of enrolled students who have suffered an unexpected financial set-back, to ensure international and social diversity and to make Bavarian International School gAG accessible to students with the interest and need for an international education regardless of their socio-economic status. We are keen to increase the amount of fee reduction we can offer and are grateful for any support in this area. Find out more about this programme here.
