The BIS as a living art museum
Open to the public and free of charge: Arts Exhibition located in the castle of Bavarian International School on the 18th of March 2020
The castle of Bavarian International School (BIS) is being transformed into a living art museum. 18 students from the art class of grade 12 will present their pieces of work on Wednesday, the 18th of March 2020 from 4:30 pm at the Haimhausen Campus. All interested visitors from the region are cordially invited, entrance is free.
For BIS students, their pieces of work in different genres - painting, mixed media, photography, film, installation, sculpture and fashion are part of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) in the subject Visual Arts. The young artists are personally present at the "Arts Exhibition" and will explain the concept, idea and implementation of their artwork - this is also part of their assessment. The personal key topics, which each student was free to choose, include pollution, consumerism, identity, family and the psyche. The students examine their overarching theme from different perspectives and they work with different types of media.
This year's BIS art exhibition in Haimhausen Castle will include three solo performances in the theatre. Typical for BIS, a total of 21 students from 12 different nations will be present. The pedagogical directors of the art class are Sarah Proudler and and Elizabeth King.
The "Arts Exhibition" will begin sharp at 4:30 p.m, officially opened by the school director and BIS executive board Dr. Chrissie Sorenson in the historic Golden Room. Afterwards, visitors will experience the vernissage on three floors. Drinks and finger food will be provided at a central bar.
