Bavarian International School introduces itself to the Greater Community

BIS participates in the education fair at the Pressehaus of Münchner Merkur from the 25th - 26th January / Four Open Days at the BIS City Campus and Haimhausen Campus

"What is the right school for my child?" Anyone looking for answers to this crucial question is cordially invited to get to know the Bavarian International School (BIS) up close. This IB World School will be present at the "Munich Education Days" (Bildungstage München) on the weekend of the 25th and 26th January, 2020. In addition, BIS will offer four Open Days hosted on campus. Between the two campuses, Munich-Schwabing and Haimhausen, approximately 1,200 students from 56 nations with 44 different mother tongues attend BIS. The motto of the private all-day school is "Believe. Inspire. Succeed".

At the "Munich Education Days", interested German and even international parents will find a team from BIS available to answer any of their questions. The event is being run by the Mediengruppe Münchner Merkur/tz and will be held at Pressehaus (Alte Rotation, entrance Bayerstraße 57). The Education Fair will be open on Saturday, 25th January, 2020 from 12:00 to 17:00 – the BIS Head of School, Dr. Chrissie Sorenson, will be in attendance from 12:00 to 14:30 and the Secondary School Principal, Dr. Rohan Skene, from 14:30 to 17:00. On Sunday, 26th January, 2020 the fair will run from 10:00 to 16:00 among others with Pastoral Coordinator Claire Ashbee in attendance from 10:00 to 13:00 and School Director Dr. Chrissie Sorenson from 13:00 to 16:00.

Behind the scenes of BIS

Due to the great interest, BIS is offering another Open Day at the City Campus at Leopoldstraße 208: Tuesday, 24th March 2020 at 13:00. The programme includes a welcome address and presentations by School Director Dr. Chrissie Sorenson, City Campus Principal Dr. April Yetsko and her deputy Nicola Moloney, the tour with student ambassadors and a concluding round of talks for further questions. The City Campus of BIS was only opened in February 2016 and houses the Kindergarten from three years of age and the Primary School with grades 1 to 5.

The Haimhausen Campus, which offers Kindergarten, Primary School and Secondary School with grades 6-12, will also be holding its doors open. The Primary School programme will take place on Thursday, 6th February, 2020 at 09:30 and in the Secondary School on Tuesday, 18th February, 2020 at 10:30 (duration approx. 2 hours each). In order to get to know the entire school on a particularly colourful, intercultural day, BIS is also combining the "International Festival" with an Open Day: Sunday, 17th May, 2020 at 10:45.

"We are delighted to be able to present prospective parents and their children with two campuses, a modern learning environment and associated pedagogical guidelines, our values and our international spirit," says Dr. Chrissie Sorenson, Head of School and Executive Board of Bavarian International School gAG (BIS).
