Gateway to the world: Third scholarship of Bavarian International School
BIS is the first international school in Germany offering three scholarships / Application deadline: 19 April 2024
The experiences of the first two scholarship recipients are excellent and have been a game changer in the lives of the young students. "The scholarship has given me a chance to achieve something big. I want to use this opportunity to help people and make a difference in the world," says the first BIS scholarship holder Isabella. She particularly emphasises that she has gained a broader perspective on the world and an open, progressive mindset, as well as special skills in analysis, collaboration and critical thinking. "I have found out how to explore new paths and simply be a better student and person," says Isabella, who started at BIS at the age of 15 and is now in Grade 11.
Believe. Inspire. Succeed.
The four-year scholarship is valid for Grade 9 until graduation with the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP) in Grade 12 and covers registration, school and bus fees. All local and international students who fulfil the formal requirements and do not already attend BIS are invited to apply for the BIS "Succeed" scholarship. The requirements include outstanding academic performance and a recommendation from the previous school, very good English language skills, evidence of voluntary social commitments, a personal essay on the meaning of the motto "Believe. Inspire. Succeed." and proof of the family's financial need for the scholarship. The application deadline is 19 April 2024, the final presentations will take place in May and the new BIS school year will begin on 21 August 2024. The scholarships are coordinated by the school's support association, Friends of BIS e.V.
"The scholarships are real game changers in the lives of young, committed and motivated minds. We are very proud to be the first international school in Germany offering such an important support programme and are grateful for the generous commitment of our sponsors," says BIS Head of School, Dr Chrissie Sorenson.
