Bavarian International School announces new scholarship

Non-profit private school gains donor for another scholarship: Interested students can apply now
Bavarian International School (BIS) is offering a four-year scholarship for a student entering grade 9 in the school year 2023-24. This new offer of financial assistance is the second scholarship in the history of the non-profit private school and is funded by the generous commitment of a member of the BIS community. Interested students and families can apply online from now until the deadline of 17 April 2023.

The international investment company DEUTSCHE FINANCE GROUP, headquartered in Munich, was a co-initiator of the first BIS scholarship, "Believe," last year and has been supporting the programme from grade 9 up to graduation with the International Baccalaureate Diploma (ID DP) - with this "international abitur", students can study at the best universities in Germany and around the world.
Now, a BIS parent is following this good example and funding the BIS "Inspire" scholarship. "We owe both donors an extraordinary debt of gratitude. The scholarships are real gamechangers in the lives of young, committed and motivated minds," says BIS Head of School Dr Chrissie Sorenson (see news link below for the first scholarship winner Isabella).

Believe. Inspire. Succeed

All that is missing now is a sponsor for the third BIS scholarship,"Succeed." "Believe. Inspire. Succeed" is the motto of the Bavarian International School, which is currently attended by around 1,220 students from more than 60 nations at the two campuses in Haimhausen and Munich-Schwabing.

Coordinated through the non-profit Friends of BIS e.V., the scholarship covers registration, school and bus fees for four years and is potentially available to all students who do not yet attend BIS and meet the requirements. These requirements include outstanding academic performance and a recommendation from their current school, very good English skills, evidence of voluntary or social engagement, a convincing student questionnaire, a personal essay on the meaning of the motto "Believe. Inspire. Succeed." and, last but not least, proof of the family's financial need.

The selected candidates of the application phase will then be invited to a final interview with a jury. The decision will be made at the end of April, giving the new scholarship awardee plenty of time to prepare for the new school year 2023-24 at BIS, which starts on 20 August 2023.

Interested students and families can find all information, requirements and links in English on the BIS website under "Support BIS" and "Scholarship" or by clicking on the QR code. Enquiries can be made via email to fobis@bis-school.com.
