Welcome to BIS

BIS Arts Exhibition with more than 130 exciting art works of 19 students from ten different nations

Bavarian International School (BIS) is opening its doors at Schloss Haimhausen and invites all interested guests to the BIS Arts Exhibition on Wednesday, 10 April 2024 (4:30 pm). 19 Grade 12 students from ten nations will be showing more than 130 art works in the genres of painting, sculpture, mixed media, photography, film and installation.

The works are part of the examination for the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB DP) in Visual Arts. Just like at a vernissage in an art gallery, the 17 to 19-year-old artists are present in person this afternoon to explain their ideas in more detail and answer questions about their works.

“Through their innovative expressions and boundless creativity, the DP art students redefine the boundaries of artistic exploration, highlighting the indispensable role of the arts in fostering critical thinking, cultural understanding, and holistic growth,” says BIS Visual Arts Teacher Anne Dirilgen.

Like the recent very successful joint concert by Dorfmusik and BIS in the sold-out auditorium, Bavarian International School (BIS) would like to continue to foster good neighbourly relations with Haimhausen and the region and deepen relationships with this event. "We would be delighted to welcome many guests from Haimhausen, the surrounding communities and Munich to our art highlight of the year at the castle," says Head of School BIS Dr Chrissie Sorenson.

Admission is free, drinks and finger food will be served and the artists will be present. A map of the exhibition area can be found HERE.
