Social Activities

PTO Clubs

Arts and Crafts Club

Provides the opportunity to share creative interest, learn a new craft, or simply meet up for a social occasion. We are a group of parents that meet twice a month for workshops or other artistic interests. We are always grateful for suggestions for new crafts and creative ideas.

Bavarian Culture Club

Offers outings to experience and see the cultural sites in and around the Munich area. Some of the planned outings include bike tours around Munich, Museum and Brewery visits, Christmas shopping in the local markets, and cross-country skiing.

Book Club

Meets every 6 weeks, in the evening, alternating between homes of the members. Books are chosen via suggestions from the members and discussions are guided by a set of questions. The books are in English, but this is not a "mother-tongue-club!" New members are ALWAYS welcome!

English/German Stammtisch

This is your chance to have a go at speaking your “second language” with new and old friends in a very relaxed and fun atmosphere over some good food and drink. We attempt to only speak German and then only English for short periods of time during a night out. All levels welcome!

Sport Clubs

Badminton Club

Meets Thursday evenings from 19:30 - 21:30. All abilities (Grade 10+ and parents) are welcome for some great fun, a little exercise, and a social get together afterwards.

Netball Club

Ever played netball? It’s easy to learn and great exercise. Please join us on Wednesday evenings. Whether you have experience or are just curious to learn a new sport, we welcome all levels.

Tennis Club

Meets Friday mornings at the Sports Verein Haimhausen. Come join us for a game of tennis!

*Please note, only the BIS Community members can participate in these sporting events.

School Volunteering

Extended Learning Program (ELP)

Offers a broad range of activities to students in Grades 1 – 5. This balances the curriculum and offers everything from cooking, music, drama, sport and art, to name but a few. Parent volunteers are very welcome to offer an activity.

Learning Assistance Program (LAP)

A support program for students across all age ranges. Volunteers work with students on a one-to-one basis.

Teacher Assistant Services (TAS)

A highly valued group of parents who can help teachers putting up displays, cutting out projects, laminating, making photo copies, etc.

Booster Club

A volunteer group that supports BIS athletes and the BIS athletics program by running the concession stand during tournaments and other sports activities.

Other areas Parents are very welcome to help out! Rainbows, Guides, Irish Dancing, Judo, and Sport Coaching... Maybe you have a skill or interest and would like to establish a new club. Don’t be shy, just let us know!
