Model United Nations
Broaden your Horizons
Few After School Activites (ASA) align more perfectly with the school’s international character than the Model United Nations (MUN) programme. Participating students engage in debates surrounding global issues and current affairs as well as preparing for various conferences throughout the year. Student-led and including about 35 students at any given time, MUN is also a great opportunity for many IB Diploma students to earn “creativity hours” as part of their Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) programme.

BIS participates in two major conferences annually: MUNOM, the Model United Nations of Munich and THIMUN, The Hague International Model United Nations. Students who participate in conferences prepare position papers representing their countries and speeches for presentation. BIS has sent delegates to The Hague since 2017, representing numerous delegations, including Croatia, the Maldives, Papua New Guinea and Jordan.

At MUN conferences you broaden your horizons. By learning and networking, you can become part of the United Nations' efforts to build peace, secure human rights and enable all people to live in dignity.
