After School Programmes
For BIS students, education is everywhere, not only in the classroom. That is why we offer a wide range of recreational, competitive and performance orientated After School Activities (ASA) and, for the younger children, a professional After School Care (ASC) on both campuses in Munich-Schwabing and Haimhausen.
After School Activities (ASA)
BIS offers approximately 80 ASA´s for almost 400 students per week, so that our students can flourish academically, creatively, socially, ethically and physically. The portfolio ranges from sports (e.g. football, basketball, volleyball, swimming, tennis, golf, rugby, karate, gymnastics, cross country, aerobics, yoga, pilates), arts, music, drama, dance, ballet, design tech, multimedia, robotics, coding to social and political programs and the Eco School project.
"Creativity, Activity, Service" and "Service in Action" are integral parts of the International Baccalaureate curriculum and are perfect examples of education that goes beyond the classroom. Other signature programmes at BIS include the Model United Nations (MUN) and the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award.
Our After School Activities are available for students from Early Childhood (Kindergarten) to Grade 12. Offerings are divided into three seasons: Fall (August - December), Winter (January - March) and Spring (April - July).
At Haimhausen Campus, activities run Monday to Thursday from 16:15 to 17:15 and Friday from 14:30 to 15:30. At City Campus, activities run Monday to Thursday from 15:30 to 16:30 and Friday from 13:50 to 14:50. BIS provides a courtesy bus Monday to Thursday for all Secondary School students who travel home by public transport after ASA´s (Haimhausen Campus only).

After School Care (ASC) & Holiday Camps
For many working parents, the smooth coordination of family and working life is a crucial factor. To ensure the best possible service for all families, BIS has been offering an After School Care programme and Holiday Camps at BIS City Campus since 2017 and at Haimhausen Campus since 2023, in a close and trusted cooperation with our external partner Play2Learn.
Childcare is divided into snack time, homework supervision & reading (quiet time) and active play (games, sports, art, music, free play), including outdoor time in the playground. After School Care takes place on normal school days (not on Personal Development Days, Parent Teacher Conferences or school holidays).
After School Care times at BIS City Campus
(families can select 2, 3, 4 or 5 sessions per week):
Monday to Thursday: 15:30 - 18:00
Friday: 13:30 - 17:00
After School Care times at BIS Haimhausen Campus
(families can select 1 or 2 days):
Wednesdays: 16:00 - 18:00
Fridays: 14:20 - 17:30
