Design Technology is taught to BIS students from grade 6 onwards. The curriculum is based around the Design Cycle, and promotes “problems solving” and “creativity” through a series of challenging and engaging units. As the students progress through the course they develop practical skills such as CAD (Computer Aided Design) and use the tools and equipment in the workshop to prototype and test their design ideas. The Design Team has also embedded the use of 3D printing and laser cutting technology in order to enhance the curriculum and inspire our learners. Students can now progress from MYP Design into the Design Technology Diploma course and standard or higher level.
