BIS Business Community (BBC)

Thank you for attending the BBC September 12^th, 2012 Gathering!

On Sep. 12th we had our 1st BBC gathering for this school year. It was our 8the gathering and this is the 4th year of BBC operation. Ron Ritchhart, from the Harvard School of Education, gave us a presentation regarding ‘Cultures of Thinkers’ and how they stimulate LEARNING in a culture of thinkers. Mr. Ritchhart also shared with us his "10 Apps" for parents that can help implement the principles of "Culture of thinkers" at home.

There were over 50 people attending the presentation and feedback was very positive. As always we followed the evening with a buffet dinner and spent time enjoying each others’ company.

Unfortunately there were quite a few people who registered for the event but did not show up or notify that they would not be joining. Due to the large number of "non show", we had to ask people to pay in order to cover the buffet cost. In the future we will ask your help to avoid such inconvenience happening. For those of you who attended and also for those who did not, please find attached the 10 Apps recommended by Ron Ritchhart.

BBC is a forum of BIS parents that enables better information sharing and interaction around commercial and business related topics. It brings together parents from unique, deversifed and intresting business and professional backgrounds. Yet they all chose to educate their children at the Bavarian International School.

The BBC holds community meetings three times a year, as welll as interacting through a LinkedIn group.

In addition to this the BBC will allow you to contribute to the education of students through events such as Carrer Day, and supporting work experience opportunities and simmilar initiatives.

Finally it is an oppottunity to get out of your daily life, enjoy good company and have interesting conversations on new and exciting topics from people of all walks of life. 

BBC Community Gathering

All BIS parents are welcomed to join the BBC, the community has three annual gathering which take place in the fall, winter and spring. The gatherings take place at BIS or in different venues in Munich. BBC gathering include a presentation on a changing topic, we try to bring interesting topics with relevance to the business community, open discussion, buffet dinner and time for socialising and networking.
