The learning that takes place at the Bavarian International School (BIS) is ever mindful of the diverse needs of our student population which represents more than 45 different nationalities. We offer the security of established structure and curriculum, combined with contemporary, dynamic and innovative educational practice focused on the development of the whole child. Integral to this approach to learning and teaching is our use of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IBPYP), Middle Years Programme (IBMYP) and the Diploma Programme (IBDP). In support of our school’s vision of developing motivated, responsible life-long learners who will make a difference to our world, our educational philosophies and resultant programmes of learning and teaching have a clear focus on your child’s future. We want to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, confident and caring young people who will help create a better and more peaceful world through inter-cultural understanding and respect, while also developing the skills, attitudes and skills necessary to lead happy, fulfilling and successful lives.
In order to achieve our school aims and enhance the learning opportunities for the young people in our care, BIS is fully committed to providing a safe, well-resourced and attractive learning environment. We provide a curriculum that compels teachers and educational leaders to think deeply about their own practice with regards to student learning and continuous school development.
Here at BIS we strive to treat each young person as an individual in their own right with his or her own unique qualities, as well as educational needs. When each student eventually leaves our school, we want them to stride into the world of further education and employment well qualified, skilled, socially and emotionally adept to handle the challenges of an increasingly globalized world in which they will live, learn, serve and work. We welcome your active participation in making our school vision a reality.
