School Fees for New Students 2013-2014

School fees are set annually by the BIS Board.

This statement, decided by the BIS Board in February 2013, supersedes all previous statements.

1.1. REGISTRATION FEE  € 1.500

The Registration Fee payment is payable upon acceptance and is non‐refundable.

The Re‐Registration fee of € 750 is due in April, upon re‐registration. Payment of this fee does not assure acceptance of the child by the school.

1.3. ENTRANCE FEE

The Entrance Fee is used for capital development and for improvement of the school’s facilities. The Entrance Fee

schedule in effect during a child’s initial year of attendance at BIS remains applicable for that child and is unaffected by subsequent changes to the schedule. The Entrance Fee is € 4.000 per child upon initial admission and an additional € 3.000 per child in each of the following two school years totalling € 10.000.

1.4. TRANSPORTATION FEE

This fee depends upon distance from the school; corresponding fees are given on a separate schedule. The transportation service can be ordered for a complete school year only.

1.5.  PRO‐RATION

The annual tuition fee is pro‐rated for students who leave early or enrol later. Payable for students who enrol late..

1.6. SCHOOL FEE REDUCTION (Tuition Fee & Entrance Fee only)

25 % Reduction for the third sibling enrolled at BIS

50 % Reduction for the fourth sibling enrolled at BIS

Transportation Fee and Re‐Registration Fee are not affected.

2. OTHER COSTS

During the school year, additional expenditures may be incurred for students in Grades 6‐12 (e.g. field and sport trip fees, math calculators) International Baccalaureate (IB) examination fees, IB self taught language ‐ or mother tongue language courses.

3. PAYMENT DATES

Tuition Fee and Entrance Fee are due by July 15th, 2013. Transportation Fee is due in September 2013 (1st semester) and in February 2014 (2nd semester). School fees for students joining during the school year are payable in full at the time of acceptance.

3.1.  PAYMENT OPTION FOR THE TUITION FEE

The Tuition Fee can be paid in 2 instalments; this option includes an additional 3% administrative charge. This option is only available by direct debit. The first payment (65 % of the Tuition Fee) is due July 15th, 2013. The second payment (38 % of the Tuition Fee) is due January 15th, 2014 (see point 1.2b)

4. PAYMENT DETAILS

All payments are to be made in Euros. Bank transfers should be made payable to the following account: Bavarian International School e.V.

5. LATE PAYMENTS

No child will be admitted to class until all fees due in accordance with the above stated terms have been paid. An interest rate of 1% per month will be charged on overdue balances.

6. ASSOCIATON MEMBERSHIP

BIS is a non‐profit registered association. Each parent, who has at least one child enrolled at BIS and has paid the required school fees, is an ordinary member of the BIS Association, which operates in accordance with its Articles of Association.

7. WITHDRAWALS

The Admissions office must be notified by the parents or guardians in writing at least six weeks in advance of the withdrawal date.

8. SIGNATURE AGREEMENT

By signing the BIS Application for admission or re‐admission the parent or guardian agrees to the above stated terms.


Die  BIS  vergibt  Stipendien  an  Schüler,  deren  Eltern  sich  den  Besuch  der  Schule  aufgrund  der  finanziellen  Möglichkeiten  nicht  leisten  können.  Die Vorraussetzungen ein Stipendium zu erhalten setzen die Teilnahme an einer Einstufungs‐  und Leistungsüberprüfung, sowie der Bewertung der bisher erbrachten schulischen Leistungen, sowie Offenlegung der familiären Einkommensverhältnisse voraus und müssen vom Direktor und Verwaltungsleiter genehmigt werden. Eine erfolgreiche und vor allem nachhaltige Schullaufbahn im englischsprachigen Alltag muss absehbar sein, daher werden die Stipendien jährlich auf schulischen Erfolg und die finanzielle Situation der Eltern überprüft.

The Re‐Registration Fee and receipt of the signed re‐registration notice secures a returning student´s place for the
coming school year. This fee will be invoiced by the school in early May 2013 and is due immediately upon receipt of the invoice. The fee is not refunded if the re‐registration is withdrawn.
