Extra-curricular Music Activities

Several ensembles have already begun, others are about to start and ANYONE interested in being part of any of these ensembles should see Miss Newman because these ensembles are for the students of BIS!  All ensembles are looking for more enthusiastic and committed members!

Jazz Ensemble takes place on Tuesday at lunchtime.  Anyone who is interested in playing jazz may join this ensemble.  An intermediate level of proficiency on your instrument is required.

Brazilian Drumming takes place on Monday lunchtime.  No experience necessary!  We have a Brazilian Drumming set and Bernd Petruck (the drum teacher) is trained in Brazilian Drumming.  For more information on joining this fun ensemble, see Miss Newman immediately!!

Middle School Concert Band: all those keen musicians wanting to play in the concert band come along Wednesday lunchtime.  During trimester 2 and 3, Concert Band will take place in ELP time.

Wind Ensemble: Thursday lunchtime.  The wind ensemble has already had its first performance at Upper School Assembly and they played for a TV documentary recently!  We would love more members.  So if you are a keen wind player, please see Miss Newman.

Music Concerts

All concerts will be in the auditorium, beginning at 7pm and you are all invited to every concert!  Please mark these dates in your calendar:

All ensembles from BIS and soloists from both the middle and upper school will perform at this concert.  It will be a fabulous evening, brimming with talent!

6th March - IGCSE and IB performance evening (mostly upper school students)

7th May – BIS Music Extravaganza (lower and middle school)
Lower and Middle School will show case their musical talent in ensembles and as soloists in this fabulous event!
