BIS School Prospectus for the school year 2011/12 School fees are set annually by the BIS Board. This statement supersedes all previous statements.(decided by the BIS Board in March 2011) 1.1. REGISTRATION FEE € 1.500The Registration Fee payment is required upon registration and is non-refundable except when thestudent cannot be accepted by the school. The Re-Registration fee of 750€ is due in April upon re-registration. Payment of this fee does not assure acceptance of the child by the school.
1.3. ENTRANCE FEEThe Entrance Fee is used for capital development and for improvement of the school’s facilities. The Entrance Fee schedule in effect during a child’s initial year of attendance at BIS remains applicablefor that child and is unaffected by subsequent changes to the schedule. The Entrance Fee is € 4.000 per child upon initial admission and an additional € 3.000 per child in each of the following two school yearstotalling € 10.000.1.4. TRANSPORTATION FEEThis fee depends upon distance from the school; corresponding fees are given on a separate schedule. The transportation service can be ordered for a complete school year only.1.5. PRO-RATIONPercentage of Tuition Fee payable upon late enrolment (other fees are not pro-rated):

1.6. SCHOOL FEE REDUCTION(Tuition Fee + Entrance Fee)
2.1 EXAMINATION & INVIGILATION FEES)Examination fees (IGSCE, IB Diploma) and invigilation costs are not included in the school fees and will be billedseparately. 2.2 OPTIONAL SERVICESCharges for testing, exams (IGSCE, IB), fieldtrips and other optionalprogrammes will be billed separately. These optional programmes include IB Diploma SelfTaught language courses in grades 11 and 12. The school will provide these courses for no additionalcharge if 5 or more students select this self taught course (e.g. Courses in A1other than English or German, such as, Swedish A1, Italian A1 etc.). If less than 5 students select the selftaught language option, BIS will continue to support students by providing aroom and time within the student's timetable, but the responsibility of payingfor the teacher will be assumed by the parents. 3 PAYMENT DATESTuition Fee and Entrance Fee are due by 15 July 2011.Transportation Fee is due in September 2011 (1st semester) and in February 2012 (2nd semester). School fees for students joining during the school year are payable in full at the time of acceptance. 3.1 PAYMENT OPTION FOR THE TUITION FEEThe Tuition Fee can be paid in 2 instalments; this option includes an additional 3% administrative charge.This option is only available by direct debit. The first payment (65 % of the Tuition Fee) is due 15 July 2011. The second payment (38 % of the Tuition Fee) is due 15 January 2012. 4. PAYMENT DETAILSAll payments are to be made in euros. Bank transfers should be made payable to the following account:Bavarian International School e.V. If the transfer is made from a bank in a foreign country, the bank charges are to be borne by the personarranging the transfer. To simplify the processing of tuition payments we would appreciate your direct debit authority. 5. LATE PAYMENTSNo child will be admitted to class until all fees due in accordance with the above stated terms have been paid. An interest rate of 1% per month will be charged on overdue balances.6. e.VBIS is a non-profit registered association. Each parent, who has at least one child enrolled at BIS and as paid the required school fees, is an ordinary member of the BIS Association, which operates in accordance with its Articles of Association.7. WITHDRAWALSThe Admissions office must be notified by the parents or guardians in writing at least six weeks in advance of the withdrawal date.8. SIGNATURE AGREEMENTBy signing the BIS Application for admission or re-admission the parent or guardian agrees to the above stated terms.Die BIS vergibt Stipendien an Schüler, deren Eltern sich den Besuch der Schule aufgrund der finanziellen Möglichkeiten nicht leisten können. Die Vorraussetzungen ein Stipendium zu erhalten setzen die Teilnahme an einer Einstufungs- und Leistungsüberprüfung, sowie der Bewertung der bisher erbrachten schulischen Leistungen, sowie Offenlegung der familiären Einkommensverhältnisse voraus und müssen vom Direktor und Verwaltungsleiter genehmigt werden. Eine erfolgreiche und vor allem nachhaltige Schullaufbahn im englischsprachigen Alltag muss absehbar sein, daher werden die Stipendien jährlich auf schulischen Erfolg und die finanzielle Situation der Eltern überprüft. |
