Transportation System PDF Print

The Bavarian International School provides a bus system which serves over 80% of the BIS community. Our transportation service is optional. The prices are calculated to cover costs. The costs of the service are divided up equally among the users by zones. Routes, stops and travel times are likely to change from year to year. We will try to accommodate a pick up/drop off point as close as possible to your home.

When new families register at BIS, they are given information about possible bus routes to school by the school transportation manager, Mrs. Alrun Bauer. She has close contact with the bus companies used by the school and she informs parents of any changes in the bus routes, timetables etc.

BIS uses five local bus companies and has built up good relations with them over the years. Most of the buses used are minibuses (8-seats). Bigger buses (12-50 seats) are also available, depending on the number of students in the area.

Public Transportation

The school is not involved in the decision-making regarding the time schedules and the fee structure of the public transportation system. Please understand that BIS can, therefore, only provided limited information about public transport. Students wishing to use public transportation are eligible to apply for a reduced Student ticket. Application forms for a Monatskarte (monthly ticket) are available at the Hauptbahnhof  (central train station) in Munich or the Admissions office.

It is possible to reach the school by public bus number 693. We have reached an agreement with the greater Munich Transit Authority for the following times:
