Bavarian International School is a forward thinking school specifically designed to meet the needs for 21st century learning and teaching.

We remind our student population that as a learning community we are a school where all, (including the staff and parents), are committed to their own learning and supporting the learning of others. At BIS, we want to break through any limitations that may hinder our students from excelling in their learning and developing as persons. We promote a problem-solving culture in our school that works against helplessness and promotes a "can-do" attitude. We tell our students that high expectations mean being certain that all of us can learn and improve - no exceptions!

We have a clear sense of direction and certainty about our vision, philosophy, core values and students. Our conceptual framework draws on a blend of international research among leading schools, wide experience and well-informed evaluation of trends in education.

We are committed to providing an international programme that meets the needs of students from all nations, serving as we do, the multinational community of greater Munich and its surrounding areas. Located in the heritage setting of Schloss Haimhausen, BIS offers the security of established structure and curriculum combined with contemporary, dynamic and innovative educational practice. Our highly-qualified and skilled professional staff represent more than ten nationalities. Our student age-range (from 4 - 18) enhances the sense of community, and our size enables us to maintain close and valued links with the members of our school community.
